June 25, 2020You hear talk about Texas Country and you want to know exactly what it is. Here is a working definition for you…
Texas Country is known for fusing neotraditional country with the outspoken, care-free views of outlaw country. Texas Country blends these sub-genres with a “common working man” theme and witty undertones and often combined with a stripped-down music sound. Texas Country uses the fiddles and steel guitars that modern Country music has abandoned. Texas Country is where Hank Williams and The Eagles meet. It’s a mixture of Western Swing, Honky Tonk, Tejano, and Rock N Roll. The lyrics are about love, losing it, and finding it again over a cold beer. It’s Friday night football, church on Sundays, Texas sunsets, the backroads, and the small towns where Texas is in everyone’s hearts. The best part, is you don’t have to live in Texas to love it. It brings Texas to you, wherever you are.
